My Artistic Process
I grew up in rural Africa before moving to the UK to attend university. I still live in the UK, in rural South West England, the lions and Cheetahs are still here, but in a shrunken form, and the buffalo have been swapped for Holsteins. With Ancestry from both rural England and the low country of the Netherlands I seem particularly drawn to wide open scenes and all things bovine. I draw inspiration from everyday rural life and the beauty around me. Whilst my creative process often involves experimenting with different techniques and mediums, allowing my art to evolve organically. My preferred mediums are graphite, charcoal and oils for pantings. I also use acrylics in my artworks
Most pieces are portrait studies of a subject, unless they are landscapes in which case I like to go wide. I also occasionally undertake commissions of animal artworks, usually beloved pets and houses.
